Pacific Pet Hospital uses state-of-the-art dental equipment for our oral surgery, which can be performed at the hospital. Our oral exams are usually done without sedation, but in some pets, a light sedative may be necessary.

The doctor will look at the gums and the amount of plaque or tartar that has built up on the pet’s teeth, and will then give a dental health evaluation for your pet.

There are four different stages of dental disease. Some dental disease can be reversed with periodic dental cleanings and polishing. Signs of oral and dental disease include:

  • Bad breath
  • Pain when chewing
  • Inflamed gums
  • Mouth swelling
